The story behind the photograph

Tall deciduous trees in peak yellow-gold fall color arch over a narrow winding road at Kickapoo State Recreation Area in Oakwood, Illinois — the low autumn sun bursting through the canopy in a brilliant starburst, vivid blue sky visible through the golden leaves above, fallen leaves carpeting the forest floor below. A photograph that captures the exact feeling of an October afternoon in an Illinois forest when the light and the color align perfectly.

A meaningful gift for an Illinois nature admirer, fall color enthusiast, woodland lover, or anyone who has ever driven a forest road in October and pulled over because the light through the trees was too good to pass up.
