A turkey vulture perches atop the cupola of a weathered, dilapidated barn in Scott County, Iowa — boards missing, the structure slowly returning to the earth. But the evening sky tells a different story: tree buds breaking, green grass pushing up from the ground, and a blue spring sky scattered with clouds lit gold and pink from below by a setting sun. Decay and renewal, perfectly framed.
