This beautiful prairie remnant located in Hancock County, Iowa was used as cow pasture for quite some time. This resulted in the proliferation of native plant species that tolerate grazing pressure. The site was missing representation of native plant species that do not tolerate persistent grazing. With the help of US taxpayers, this remnant was enrolled in the USDA NRCS Wetlands Reserve Easement Program, has been fully restored, and is protected in perpetuity.
