The bald eagle doesn't get it's namesake white head and tail until 4 to 5 years of age. The 4 year old individual in this image doesn't quite have a fully white head and tail yet. Eagles younger than 4 years old have a brown head that matches their body feathers. Young or old, those fish catching talons are always impressive!
